I am a Cambridge University Graduate and member of the British Clock and Watchmaker's guild, operating from a small but well equipped workshop based in rural Suffolk. With a fascination for engineering and horology I delight in the ingenuity of clock mechanisms, and admire the extraordinary work carried out in simple workshops.
I normally recommend a conservative approach, intending to restore the reliability and timekeeping of the clock without erasing its history and charm.
My specialty is the mechanical element - the conservation and overhaul of clock movements. Whilst I do clean the case of every clock I receive, I do not carry out cabinet repair work.
I am equipped not only to provide basic cleaning servicing but to manufacture worn or damaged components such as wheels and pinions.
I can normally give an idea of the basic service costs based on photos of the clock and it's movement. Should wear or damage be found requiring additional work, I will always contact the customer. Prices for larger clocks include collection and delivery when mutually convenient, within 25 miles of Eye, Suffolk. I am a sole trader so visits must be by appointment only.
